About the Event

Adriana González (Operalia winner 2019) and Iñaki Encina Oyón rediscover Robert Dussaut & Hélène Covatti. The two forgotten composers were the parents of Thérèse Dussaut, one of the great French pianists of the 20th century who entrusted Iñaki with her musical heritage. Robert Dussaut won first prize at the Grand Prix de Rome, the most important French composition prize (other winners include Bizet, Gounod, Massenet, Debussy) and was too humble to ever get his music properly published, while his wife Hélène Covatti abandoned her career due to the outbreak of WWII and in order to dedicate her life to raising her daughter. Both were teachers of some of today’s most distinguished French musicians. Discover their breathtaking music with this world premiere recording!
